Fruit juices and smoothies.
A lot of different types of fruits are grown-up worldwide. Successful, cost-effective production of juices, smoothies and other beverages based on these fruits depends on a fragile balance of parameters. On the one hand, it is critical to maintain the quality, flavour and colour associated with the source crop. On the other hand, it is vital to meet both hygiene standards and health and safety requirements, taking into account at the same time that production costs are kept as low as possible.
The technology, equipment, systems, know-how and service from HRS help you achieve and maintain this crucial balance.
Exclusive processes.
HRS core technologies play a central role in separating, concentrating, heating and cooling the pulp, fibre, juice and water content of the juices and smoothies derived from fruits. Our unique processes make it possible to do this with less waste, lower energy consumption and more effective recovery of revenue-generating by-products.
The advantage of pioneers.
HRS has a tradition of providing fruit processing operations with advanced-technology opportunities. In HRS we have a business unit dedicated exclusively to fruit processing lines for over 15 years. In the high-volume processing of juices and smoothies for world commodity markets, HRS technical innovations offer you a key advantage in getting - and keeping - ahead.
Fruit juices with cells, pulp and fibres, soft drinks (cola, ice tea, etc...) and high energy drinks are thermally treated in pasteurisaton systems using corrugated tube heat exchangers.
The thermal treatment is very fast and effective because the significant increase in heat transfer coefficients produced by the corrugated tubes significantly reduces the time required for the treatment, compared to other types of heat exchanger.
Because of the quickness and effectiveness of treatment, the produced product retains more of its natural properties with a minimum degradation due to the thermal treatment.
The Unicus® Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger (SSHE) also has a significant role in the juice and soft drink industries:
- Freezing.
- Concentration by evaporation.
