Corrugated tube heat exchangers.
HRS Heat Exchangers applies corrugated tubes instead of smooth tubes in its shell and tube heat exchangers. Corrugated tubes
create extra turbulence in the fluid that flows through the tubes. This extra turbulence translates itself in a large increase
in heat transfer compared to smooth tube heat exchangers. This extra heat transfer gives the following advantages:

- More heat transfer means less heat transfer area needed.
- Less area means shorter heat exchangers.
- Shorter heat exchangers means a more economic design, money is saved.
- Shorter length means a reduction in pressure drop. This saves pumping power and cost.
- Shorter length means that the heat exchanger can be fitted in less space.
- The extra turbulence created in the corrugated tube means that the unit can withstand longer the negative effects of fouling.
With increasing flow velocity (or increased Reynolds number of the fluid) the effect of the corrugated tube becomes more
apparent. The graph on the left illustrates this concept. In order to understand the basics and how a heat exchanger is
made you can see the following animation.
You can also see a simulation of a flow
with particulates passing throgh a corrugated tube.
HRS DTI Series
heat exchangers are industrial double tube heat exchangers (tube within a tube or shell and tube heat exchangers).
HRS DTR Series
heat exchangers are tube in tube heat exchangers specially designed for sludge and waste water applications. A special feature
of the DTR is that the inner tube is removable.
HRS K Series
are stainless steel shell and tube heat exchangers for industrial use. Featuring corrugated inner tubes for enhanced heat
transfer, they are the ideal heat exchangers for steam to water applications such as CIP heating.
HRS F Series
are stainless steel shell and tube heat exchangers designed for the pharmaceutical industry. Suitable for Water For Injection
(WFI) applications.
HRS DTA Series
heat exchanger is a double tube heat exchanger (tube within a tube), similar to the DTI type heat exchanger, but with a
design that is suited for food industry applications.
HRS MI Series
are stainless steel shell and tube heat exchangers for food industry use. They are the ideal heat exchangers for pasteurization
applications.
HRS MR Series
are stainless steel shell and tube heat exchangers for the food industry, specially designed for product to product heat
recovery.
HRS AS Series
are triple tube or annular space heat exchangers, used for heat transfer applications with viscous fluids.
