HRS Delivers Record Heat Exchanger Order for North American Environmental Project

The Client

HRS Heat Exchangers has successfully delivered its largest-ever single order to a client in North America, supporting a major environmental initiative. The project highlights HRS’s manufacturing capabilities, international coordination, and commitment to renewable energy applications.

Manufactured at HRS’s facility in Murcia, Spain, the order underscores the company’s global reach and engineering excellence in delivering complex thermal systems across continents.

The Challenge

The impressive order, valued at $3.8 million, comprised:

  • 384 heat exchanger modules
  • A total weight of approximately 126 tonnes
  • A combination of 6-metre and 10-metre units
  • Integrated modules for heating, cooling, and heat recovery

The system was specifically designed for use in a large-scale renewable energy project, tailored to maximise energy efficiency using HRS’s signature corrugated tube technology.

The corrugated tube design plays a critical role in enhancing thermal efficiency by inducing turbulence in the flow, reducing fouling, and improving overall heat transfer. The project involved:

  • Mixed-length modules (6m and 10m) to meet space and process demands
  • Multiple stages of thermal processing – heating, cooling, and heat recovery
  • Tight logistical coordination for transatlantic delivery

Each unit was designed to meet high standards of reliability and performance under the conditions required by the renewable energy facility.

The Solution

Given the size and complexity of the order, meticulous logistical planning was essential. The complete system was shipped in 18 standard shipping containers across three shipments:

  • September: Initial shipment of 3 containers
  • October: Additional 3 containers
  • December: Final delivery of 12 containers, completing the consignment

Each transatlantic journey took approximately three weeks, with the first containers inspected on arrival by Wally Niane, HRS Senior Business Development Manager. The equipment arrived safely and without damage.

The successful delivery was the result of close coordination between HRS teams in Europe and North America. Matt Hale, Global Key Account Director at HRS, noted:

“Delivering an order of this magnitude on time is a great testament to the teamwork between the local sales and engineering team in North America, and the designers and engineers in Spain. We look forward to working with the client to support the installation and commissioning of our equipment in due course.”

This project reaffirms HRS’s capability to meet the growing demand for sustainable, high-performance thermal systems on a global scale.
