If you are passionate about cost engineering and process optimisation to ensure contribution margins are controlled, at HRS Heat Exchangers, we are looking for a Cost Engineer to join our commercial team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cost estimates for quotations and projects.
  • Gather quotes for raw materials, items, third party inspections and labour required for the manufacture of components and systems.
  • Analyse costs and seek savings opportunities by researching new suppliers and brands in coordination with the purchasing and operations management team.
  • Provide detailed labour cost analysis for welding, assembly and fabrication of heat exchangers and systems.
  • Foresee cost variations and propose alternatives to improve operating margins.
  • Analyse cost reports and adjust forecasts.
  • Develop and update cost prices for standard products.
  • Implement an efficient framework for cost engineering, automating and simplifying estimation processes.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings and sessions, providing key input to engineering, design and procurement teams.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years in the purchasing department in companies in the industrial sector.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of suppliers of materials and components for power plants, environment and heat exchangers.
  • Understanding of fittings, flanges, constructive elements and parts of heat exchangers and process plants.
  • Knowledge of welding, machining and assembly of parts.
  • Familiarity with pump curves, valve types and instrumentation devices.
  • Experience in MS Office tools and ERPs (preferably NAV).
  • High level of written and spoken English and Spanish
  • Understanding of P&ID and PFD diagrams.
  • Ability to manage data, critical analysis.
